Artemis - Diana

Evitei 'comparar' Yewá em 'Lágrima' com Diana/Artemis, a deusa virgem da morte. Meninas se iniciavam para o culto de Artmeis quando alcancavam a puberdade, e tinham que ser castas. Sacerdotisas Algo difícil já que Diana se vinga contra os homens que querem conquistarla. Os quadros que mostram ela, com arco e flecha, assistindo os cachorros devoradores em cima de Actaeon. Podia muito bem ser uma 'qualidade' de Yewá.

I have avoided mentioning and comparing Yewá to Diana and Artemis, the virgin goddess of death.
Her darker side is revealed in some vase paintings, where she is shown as the death-bringing goddess whose arrows fell young maidens and women. The attributes of the goddess were often varied: bow and arrows were sometimes replaced by hunting spears; as a goddess of maiden dances she held a lyre; as a goddess of light a pair of flaming torches.
She was once bathing naked in a vale on Mount Cithaeron, when the Theban prince and hunter Actaeon stumbled across her. He stopped and stared, amazed at her ravishing beauty. He was so stunned that he accidentally stepped on a twig, and Artemis noticed him. She was so disgusted at his stares that she threw magical water at his forehead. The water transformed him into a stag and his own hounds killed him. He was torn apart by the deadly hunting dogs, who never knew that the stag they were hunting was their own master. Alternatively, Actaeon boasted that he was a better hunter than she and Artemis turned him into a stag and he was eaten by his hounds.
When young girls reached puberty they were initiated into her cult, but when they decided to marry, which Artemis was not against, they were asked to lay in front of the altar all the paraphernalia of their virginity, toys, dolls and locks of their hair, they then left the domain of the virgin goddess.

Salete

Salete de Yewá foi a escolha óbvia para o poster por várias razões. Primeiro, por que ela era a Yewá mais jovem que eu fotografei. Segundo, por que ela já serviu de modelo para minha pinturas. E terceiro, por que esta foto em particular, de perfil, foi a única que eu tinha que servia para criar o efeito espelho.

Salete de Yewá was the obvious choice for the poster because she was the youngest Yewá I have ever photographed. Secondly, because I had already painted her in the past, and she is already a muse, in this regard! And thirdly, because this was the only photo I had taken of a profile, which is what the poster required in order for me to create the ‘mirror’ effect.

Tears - Lágrimas

Finalmenta fechei o nome do filme, que significa um novo pôster e novos ares. O nome remete a primeira lágrima que, dizem uns, pertence a Yewá, dizem outros, a Nanã. Já que as filhas de Yewá são choronas, e a lágrima 'brota', como o olho d'água que pertence a Yewá o nome colou. Fiz uma lágrima em formato de aracolê/cabaça.

Finally I have chosen the name of the film, which means a new poster and new enthusiasm. The name harks back to the first tear, in mythology, which some say belongs to Nanã, others to Yewá. MAny of the Yewá initiates are self-professed cry-babies, and the water spring, that bubbles up from the ground is sacred to Yewá. And, of course, there are so many other reasons. I designed the tear to remind one of the small gourd sacred to Yewá.
